Why is the bank rebranding?

Since our founding in 1997, Southwestern National Bank has grown steadily across Texas and into California. We want our brand to reflect who we are today: a growing, forward-looking bank built on personal relationships, cultural understanding, and above and beyond service. The result is a refreshed brand that honors our legacy while positioning us to serve our customers and communities in the years to come. 

Why has the name changed to “Southwestern Bank”?

Our shortened name, Southwestern Bank, honors the legacy of our bank’s foundation with a simpler name.

Benefits: 

• Easier to say and recognize: A shorter name is more memorable and easier for employees to say when greeting you.

• Improves signage visibility and consistency: Allows for larger, more legible signage that’s easier to read.

• Continuity and compliance: While using Southwestern Bank as our public-facing trade name, we will maintain Southwestern National Bank as our legal name to ensure continuity and FDIC coverage for all current and future customer accounts.

The name on the door may be new—but our purpose, our people, and our values remain unchanged: We serve. We build. We transform. We respect. 

What does it mean that “Southwestern Bank is a trade name for Southwestern National Bank”?

While Southwestern Bank is the public-facing trade name you will see on bank signage and marketing materials, our legal name, and the name on your legal documents will remain Southwestern National Bank.

This is a common and regulated practice which allows us to use our new, shorter name publicly while continuing to use our original name for customer accounts, FDIC coverage, and all other legal needs.

What’s being updated?

The main updates that you will notice are:

• Updated branch signage featuring our newly updated, simplified, and modern logo

• A refreshed look to our website (logins and passwords will remain the same)

• We're moving to southwesternbank.com, and swnbk.com will automatically redirect to this URL so bookmarked links continue to work.

• New collateral highlighting the various banking services available at Southwestern Bank

• Updated marketing and advertising

What is not changing?

Our legal name, which you’ll see on your contracts and legal documents, will remain as Southwestern National Bank.

There are also no changes in ownership, leadership, employees, customer relationships, products, or our commitment to building banking solutions for our customers.

Is this a merger or acquisition?

No. This is not a merger, acquisition, or restructuring. Our leadership and ownership remain the same, guiding the bank with the experience and integrity customers have trusted for generations.

Will customers need to take any actions?

No action is required. This is a visual update only. It will not affect account numbers, digital banking access, products, or services. 

Will branch locations, hours, services, or staff change?

No. The same branch and banking teams will continue to serve customers with the same care, expertise, and personal attention Southwestern Bank is known for.
